MB co molasses cup
I am pleased to offer this nice example of a typical unmarked molasses cup (syrup) attributed to meriden britannia company. it was made between 1853 and 1883 and is illustrated as #85 in the company’s 1867 catalog. it stands 6 1/8” tall and is in good condition inside and out. the shell design thumb piece, cusp lid and attractive shapely handle combine to form an exceptional example of 19th century american pewter. see page 18, fig. 6B, pcca bulletin volume 13 #4 for a picture of identical cup.
