1790 Oval Teapot
Here is a circa 1790-1800 oval teapot fabricated of sheet pewter, probably in Sheffield, England as most English examples were. The touchmark has been made unreadable probably by a dishonest dealer in order to pass it off as American. This would have been because Isreal Trask copied this exact style in his Beverly, Mass. shop during the 19th century. English oval pots have a separate strainer inside while the American examples do not. The pot is 10 3/4" long and 6" tall. It is in good overall condition.
