9 1/4” Pennsylvania ‘ds’ plate
the maker of ‘ds’ marked pewter, found generally in pennsylvania, is a mystery. To complicate matters, there are other unidentified touchmarks that contain the “DS” initials. a very good article was published in the pcca bulletin vol. 15#8 winter 2017 regarding the ‘ds’ enigma. this flat rim plate has three ‘crowned tudor rose ds’ touchmarks struck in an arc. the ‘eh’ marks are owners initials. the plate is late eighteenth century and is in very good condition.
