Rare Phila. Flat Rim Plate

This 18th century 9 1/4" plate is marked three times with a crowned rose DS mark used by a yet to be identified Phila. pewterer. This plate was cast in the same mold used by Simon Edgell, Cornelius Bradford and C & J Hera.  It has excellent touchmarks and is in very good original condition.  The price is $1100.00

Putnam c 1840 Mass Coffeepot

James Putnam worked in Malden, Mass from 1830 - 1855.  He designed as well as made outstanding pewterware.  This well proportioned Putnam marked C-pot is on the small side and stands 9 1/4" tall overall.  The banded body, spout and lid with floral finial blend to produce an exceptionally attractive form.  The condition is very good with minimal surface blemishes.  The interior is clean and near new. The price is $340.00

Rare 18th C Connecticut Deep Dish

This very fine 13 1/4" deep dish is well marked by Joseph Danforth, Sr of Middletown, CT.  The highly skilled Joseph Danforth worked there from 1780 - 1788 producing a good variety of pewterware. It's condition is very good to excellent.  The price is $800.00

Signed Palethorp Mug

This heavily cast pint mug was made in Phila. between the years 1817 and 1821 by Robert Palethorp Jr. The body and handle are cast from molds once owned and used by William Will lending to it's earlier appearance. The mug is in it's original untouched state with only a light polishing. It stands 4 1/2" tall with 3 1/4" TD and 4" BD. The condition is very good with light pitting to the inside bottom. The price is $3000.00

T & C Export Teapot

Drum shaped teapots are by far one of the less common forms of 18th c examples found today. This handsome export teapot was made c 1790 in London by Townsend and Compton. It stands 5 5/8" tall and has a 4 7/8" base diameter. The pot is in very good condition and retains it's original fruitwood handle. The interior is dark with minor pitting.  The price is $3300.00

American 19th C Ladles

A) This fine ladle with wooden handle is unmarked but identical to marked examples by Simeon Stedman who worked in Hartford, CT. from 1818 - 1825. It is 14" long and in very good condition. SOLD

B) This 13" long ladle with metal handle is marked Palethorps. Robert Jr. and John H. Palethorp were well known pewterers in Phila and probably worked together for a short period circa 1820. This uncommon ladle is in very good condition.  SOLD
