TD & SB Quart Mug

This rare American mug is marked "TD & SB" to the underside.  It was made in Hartford, CT by Thomas Danforth and Sherman Boardman between the years 1810 and 1830.  The classic form is reminiscent of mugs of the eighteenth century.  The mug is well made and in very good original condition.  It stands 6" tall and has a base diameter of 4 3/4".  The price is $1650.00

Townsend & Compton Tankard

I am pleased to offer this very nice English export quart tankard for sale.  It bears the crowned "X" and hallmarks used by the maker to the left of the double C handle.  John Townsend's lamb and Dove mark is on the inside bottom.  To the top of the lid, owners initials "EP" are engraved.  It was made between 1748 and 1801 in London.  The tankard stands 7 7/8" to the top of the lid and is in very good original condition.  The price is $1900.00

Exceptional Putnam Coffeepot

Here is a very nice c 1835 example of the superb workmanship that the maker James Putnam was capable of. He worked in Malden, Mass from 1830 to 1855. This 9 3/4" tall coffeepot is well designed, detailed and finished.  The pot is in excellent condition, inside and out with the paint restored.  The price is $345.00

3 Quart Boardman Flagon

Impressive is a good word to describe this 13 1/4" tall signed church flagon by Thomas Danforth Boardman and Sherman Boardman.  It has three marks struck to its underside.  They include the makers' TD & SB mark, their Eagle mark and Quality X.  Much attention went into the casting and finishing of this fine piece which has lead a sacred life, leaving it in very good original condition.  It was made in Hartford, CT circa 1825.  The price is $2600.00

18th Century Sauce Boat

This attractive English piece is well cast, nicely finished and features engraving to both sides. The crescent is probably a family coat of arms, and the word "Lion" could be a name of an Inn.  It is unmarked, possibly c 1770 London, and similar to sauce boats by Henry Joseph.  It is in excellent original condition.  The server stands 3 7/8" tall and is 7 7/8" long.  The price is $510.00

9 5/8" Deep Dish

This 18th century dish is European and possibly Low Countries (the Netherlands region). It is in good condition and rows of hand skimmed lathe marks are clearly turned to the back. The dish is 1" deep. The price is $75.00

Rare 8" Decorated Candleholders

Homan and Company of Cincinnati made many candle holders during their working period of 1847 - 1890, but rarely were they decorated. They are unmarked which is typical of candle holders by Homan. This 8" pair are decorated and also equipped with the rare option of push up ejectors. The bases each have two rows of beading and each have three rows of Herringbone turnings to the upper portions. The ejectors are restored to good working order. Overall condition is very good. SOLD
