Powell Pewter Current Selection

This very fine baluster is unmarked and stands 4 7/8 inches tall. To the left of the handle is stamped "J.S." and to the right is the date 1829. The initials are those of the sealer (inspector) and may belong to Joseph P Simpson who is listed as working for the city of New York from 1819 - 1828. The piece is identical to marked examples by Boardman and is probably a product of that pewtering company. the measure is in very good original condition with no problems whatsoever. This 7 7/8" plate is of the single reed type. It is in very good condition and has well struck touchmarks. The maker, Blakeslee Barns operated his shop in Philadelphia from 1812 - 1817. The price is $300.00

This very uncommon Child/invalid feeder is late 18th century and possibly Dutch. Please note the zoomorphic hand scraped spout and decorative band. The piece stands 2 1/2" tall, has a top diameter of 2 1/2" and a capacity of approximately 4 ounces. The Condition is excellent. SOLD

Thomas D. Boardman made fine pewter in Hartford, CT from 1804 - 1860. The double eagle marks he struck to this plate dates it circa 1820. The plate is in excellent condition and may have been used as part of a church set. The price is $235.00

This circa 1800 measure is in very good condition and stands 11 1/4" tall. There are large wriggle work owners initials on the lip. The price is $740.00

(A) 1801 German Candleholder
The delicate button knoped candle holder is 5 1/2" tall. The base is engraved with the date 1801 and owners initials 'HR'. The base is 4 1/8" in diameter. The condition is very good, restored. German Candleholder SOLD
(B) French 19th C Wine Funnel
This funnel is marked near the lip '2 Fin Garanti' and has a maker mark 'J (anchor) L'. It is 7 1/8" long and has a top diameter of 6". This circa 1880 nicely cast funnel is in very good, usable condition. Funnel SOLD
(C) English Broth Bowl
This simple footed bowl is 5 7/16" in diameter and stands 2 1/2" tall. The nicely constructed piece is unmarked and is probably English or American and circa 1850. The bowl is spun and the foot is cast. It remains in very good condition. The price is $65.00

An identical quart tankard is pictured on page 122 in Herr's book Pewter in Pennsylvania German Churches. It has faint hallmarks on the side struck by Carpenter and Hamberger of London c 1795 and stands 7 1/4" tall. It is in good condition with light oxidation. SOLD
