tall td & sb beaker
i am happy to offer this fine 5 3/16" tall beaker marked on the bottom with a quality "x" mark and "td & sb". This touch mark was used by Thomas Danforth and sherman boardman of connecticut from 1810 to 1830 and later. this form of beaker was used in churches and domestically. the beaker is well cast with boardmans fine pewter alloy and boasts twin incised mid-lines and a detailed base. it is in excellent condition. note: the line left on the underside is where the maker's lathe tool slipped during the turned finish process. american tall beakers are hard to locate in this condition. this is the finest example i have ever offered.
