It is with a heavy heart that i announce the passing of my beloved husband, Frank M. Powell, on April 1, 2024. Following is his obituary:

Frank Powell was truly a renaissance man, deeply passionate about pewter and dedicated to mastering all aspects of its craft. From repairing to buying and selling this old gray metal, his expertise was unparalleled. A born artisan and craftsman, Frank's skills extended far beyond pewter as he apprenticed as a young man to become a Journeyman Electrician, showcasing his versatility and thirst for knowledge. He held deep admiration for craftsmen of the past and carried on their legacy through his honest business practices, marked by profound knowledge and fairness. Even as his health wavered, Frank's drive never faltered. Whether customizing his beloved Mustang cars or meticulously assembling model cars, he exemplified a relentless work ethic and a restless spirit. A devoted father and husband, Frank's legacy is not only in his craftsmanship but also in the lasting love and pride he instilled in those around him. jill powell 7/28/2024

rare danforth plate

i am pleased to offer this unusual 9 3/16” semi-deep flat rim plate in fair condition. it was made by Thomas danforth iii early in his career and after 1782. the early style die (l364) was inherited from his father, Thomas Danforth ii. the bottom is struck with his (l363) hallmarks, also inherited. thomas danforth iii worked in stepney, connecticut and philadelphia, pa. his career ended in 1818. there are no repairs.
