piggott export tankard
this quart tankard is a nice example of the quality pewter that john piggott made in london for export to the colonies between 1736 and 1755. his "IP" touchmark is nicely struck inside this tankard. it features an uncommon heart pierced thumbpiece. the thumbpiece is nicely hand scraped and finished. the tankard stands 7 1/4" tall. other than some pitting on the inside bottom, the piece is in very good condition.
