18” english cocks basin

i am pleased to offer this impressive flat rim basin bearing the marks of pewterer susannah cocks of london, 1820-1847. the engraved “crowned b” on the rim indicates that this piece is part of a special assembled garnish of pewter purchased by a wealthy family or institution. i have had several plates from this setting with the same engraved monogram. this basin is 3 1/8” deep. it has 16 rows of hand struck hammermarks on its outside booge (curve). the marks are good and the condition is very good.
